About Colleen

On other typical Republican websites, this is the area where the other candidates check all the boxes:

✅Pro 2nd Amendment

✅Pro Life

✅For Lower Taxes

✅For Cutting Spending/Smaller Government

✅Support The Military/Families

✅Enforce Immigration Laws/Protect Our Borders

✅Repeal Obamacare

Unfortunately for us, when we depended on our current Congressman to do the right thing and actually follow through with what he said he stood for, he did the complete opposite. Which brings me to why I am running for Congress in the 8th District.

After March 23rd, when the bloated $1.3 Trillion 2018 Omnibus Spending Bill passed, I was both angry and sad for this country and our state for this betrayal. Then I looked to see who voted for it. Our very own Congressman Kustoff,(you know the guy who checked all the boxes above) voted FOR the $1.3 trillion dollars to fund the government spending until September.

This is when I decided to run for Congress 8th District. What good did it do to have a lawyer and a seasoned politician representing us? I’m a realtor in Jackson and the mother of 3 grown kids. I’ve been married to Patrick for 30 years. The founders of this country meant for our elected representatives to be in office temporarily - NOT as a permanent occupation.

My husband and I have lived in other states, including Virginia, where I was very involved with the local Tea Party, worked with other conservative groups following bills, advocating for protecting citizens rights in the state legislature and worked on a friend's campaign for U.S. Senate.

I think voting to spend 1.3 trillion dollars this year (for a total of $4.4 trillion) was irresponsible and stupid. I also will not be intimidated or overly impressed by the presence of politicians like Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi(they also voted for this spending bill). I don’t need the approval from all the swamp creatures that voted for this spending debacle.

The swamp is still alive and well, but I promise not to choose party or special interests over principles, or before the best interest of the citizens in our district. I’m asking for your support and your vote in the primary. Early voting starts July 13th - July 28th, 2018. Final voting date is the primary on August 2nd.

We can do this together!
